In recent years, all costs have risen sharply. Prices were last adjusted just under two years ago, but at the turn of the year, the VAT increase ate up a large part of the benefits gained. Now we are making another small adjustment.
Along with the price increase, this also brings some good news: the ten-time card will now be valid for a full year, the Höntsy Pass will also have a special price for discount groups, single ticket prices will remain unchanged, and a small cash discount will be available from the online store.
Originally, single tickets were priced significantly higher than series tickets in Höntsy to make the instructor’s job easier, so that they would not have to sell tickets separately each time. In this respect, the world has changed, as paying for single tickets is now quick and easy with contactless payment or online. For this reason, we are now keeping the price of single tickets unchanged, even though the prices of series tickets are rising slightly.
Höntsy is officially a non-profit company, and although we have to cover our costs, we strive to make our services affordable for as many people as possible. We considered how we could combine this goal with the inevitable price increases. Firstly, the Höntsypass will continue to offer discounts on the same basis as other tickets, i.e. the normal price is for working people and the reduced price is for students, the unemployed, and pensioners. If you belong to a discount group and have a Höntsypass, please notify us at ilkka.virjo@hontsy.fi .
Secondly, over the years, the prices of many payment methods for companies have spiraled out of control. We are now introducing a small ”cash discount” in our online store for those paying by debit card or bank transfer. It is only valid for purchases made through the online store. Starting March 2, you can get the discount by selecting the appropriate option when choosing your product. (Note: technically, you can select this option and pay in another way, but the product will not be delivered and you will be asked to pay the full price.)
The new prices will take effect on March 1, 2026 (for serial tickets, on Monday, March 2). If your Höntsy Pass has a 12-month commitment period, the new price will only take effect after it has expired. Now is also a good time to get a new Höntsy Pass, because if you start a new 12-month pass before March, you can lock in the old price for that year!
Höntsy prices from March 1, 2026 (old prices in parentheses):
| Normal | Discounted | |
|---|---|---|
| Single ticket | €14 | €12 |
| 5-trip card, valid for 12 months from date of purchase | €59 (€55) | €54 (€49) |
| 10-trip card, valid for 12 months from date of purchase | €109 (€99) | €99 (€89) |
| One year of additional usage time for an expired series card. You can purchase once, price per remaining use. | €4 | €3 |
| Höntsypass with a 12-month commitment period | €63/month (€58/month) | €58/month |
| Höntsypass without a commitment period | €74/month (€69/month) | €69/month |
| Monthly card (valid for 4 weeks from the date of purchase), available at the reservation desk and online store | €79 (€75) | €74 (€70) |
The penalty fee for a ”no-show” (uncancelled and unused reservation) will be a bit more lenient for pass holders in the future. A serial ticket will normally be marked with a ”tick.” The fee for a Höntsy Pass holder will be €10, and the price of a single ticket will be €14.
