The Last Volleyball Tournament of the Year is Here!
We’ll play with the same teams from start to finish. You don’t need to have a team to participate! Sign up as an individual, and as the organizer, we will form teams aiming for as balanced lineups as possible.
The tournament will likely feature two different skill-level series and will take place at the stunning new school in South Hervanta – Etelä-Hervannan koulu. This year, there’s been an overwhelming demand for team tournaments, so make sure to secure your spot early. Games will be played with strict 6-player teams, meaning the last few to sign up might miss out!

The tournament will be held on Saturday, December 28th, at the South Hervanta school between approximately 9:30 AM and 8:00 PM. There’s a balcony for spectators and players on break. The exact tournament schedule depends on the number of participants—if fewer people register, the tournament will finish earlier. If many sign up, games will be divided into shifts so no one’s tournament will last the entire day or evening.
This tournament is team-based: we will form teams from individual sign-ups, and those teams will play together throughout the day. The game system depends on the number of teams, but it usually includes a preliminary round followed by playoff matches for all teams. We aim to create balanced teams with a mix of different player types. There will be plenty of games—around 8–10 full volleyball sets throughout the day. You’ll get plenty of opportunities to spike the ball!
In the tournament, teams will referee each other’s games, so every team will have referee duties as well.
When signing up, you can indicate your preferred skill level series, but we cannot guarantee your placement.
Players are assigned to teams based on the organizers’ knowledge of participants and their previous tournament performance. For new players, we’ll also consider any information you provide about yourself. If you’re not a regular Höntsy participant, please fill in this section carefully—it’s easiest to compare yourself to a player we know! Similarly, if you’re a regular but not currently at your usual level (e.g., due to a minor injury), please let us know.
